Ikea trotten custom handle

The 120cm version of the Ikea Trotten desk was not designed to be put adjactent to other tables or to the wall. In tight spaces we need to reserve to our HMS metal saw, elbow grease, and do some cutting.

To mount our custom handle we need to bore a hole perpendicular to the metal bar, and exactly in the center. For this matter we can 3d print a simple cylindrical jig and use a 3mm metal drill bit.

Result

The winding of the handle is pretty janky, but not much different from the original experience.

There are 3 rotational degrees of freedom instead of 2 now, but the thing does work.
